The reigning Canadian Horse of the Year Majestic Son won Sunday's $15,250(C) Frank Ryan Memorial Trot at Rideau Carleton Raceway with a track-record 1:53 victory for driver Trevor Ritchie.
Ritchie moved Majestic Son to the lead shortly before the half and then coasted home with a four-length margin over the field. Armbro Chronicle finished second with JM Vangogh third. The time set a new track mark for older trotters.
Mark Steacy trains the winner for the Majestic Son Stable. a 4-year-old son of Angus Hall, Majestic Son now has three wins in four starts this year, with career earnings approaching $2 million.
