Malicious and Whackamole Hanover kept their undefeated streaks in tact with impressive victories in Monday’s second leg of the Dream Maker Pacing Series for two-year-old colts and geldings at Mohawk Racetrack.

Malicious took charge early in the first $20,000 split for driver Paul MacDonell and then turned back a stern challenge from Lake Shark in the third quarter to emerge victorious in 1:53.3. Lake Shark raced gamely to finish within three-quarters of a length of the winner despite a :27 second final quarter. It was almost five lengths further back to Mcaracas who finished third.

Malicious, a son of Bettors Delight - Silky, ran his career unbeaten streak to four for trainer Dr. Ian Moore who co-owns along with R G McGroup Ltd. of New Brunswick and Serge Savard of Quebec. He returned a popular $2.80 to win.

Whackamole Hanover turned in another gritty first-over effort to take the second division for driver Roger Mayotte in 1:54.2. The son of Cams Card Shark - Western Duel got up in the late stages to upend Warrawee Legend with Rafferty Hanover landing the show spot.

Whackamole Hanover is now two-for-two to start his racing career and was sent off as the 7/2 third choice in the wagering despite the fact he was a winner in leg one. Trainer Tim Pinske shares ownership of the colt along with Jim Simpson of Hanover, Pa.

The $55,000 Dream Maker Series Final will go postward next Monday night at Mohawk. (WEG)
