March 02, 2008 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Manhardt coasted to his fourth straight victory in the featured fifth race, a $42,000 winners-over pace, on Saturday night at the Meadowlands.

Driven by George Brennan and trained by Jim Eaton, Manhardt benefited from a second-over trip behind South Park Hanover and tipped off live cover to win by 3 1/4 lengths in 1:49.2.

South Park Hanover battled gamely first-over and held on for second, while it was 3 1/2 lengths bak to Casimir Camotion in third. Manhardt paid $3 to win.

Manhardt, a 5-year-old son of Western Ideal, captured his fifth win in his seventh start of the year and increased his lifetime earnings to $354,124 for owner Robert Silberberg of Farmington Hills, Mich. (Meadowlands)
