Cat Manzi and Eric Goodell were injured when Goodell's horse Fake Denario N fell in the last turn in race 12 at Harrah's Chester early Sunday evening, and both drivers were conscious on the racetrack when a second ambulance arrived to take them both to the Crozer-Chester Medical Center for evaluation. The 13th race-which was the last one scheduled on the Harrah's Chester card--was canceled.
Manzi complained of back and shoulder pain and Goodell of pain in the rib area.
Also involved in the accident were Tim Tetrick driving Four Starz Sue, and Brian Sears, aboard Western Ace. Tetrick sustained abrasions and cuts but walked off the track. Sears also walked off the track but had no visible injuries.
Although the horses involved in the accident were loose on the track, they were quickly caught and according to initial reports, none appeared to have sustained injuries.
