Mare prepping for Lotteria

While Mr. Muscleman's connections are prepping for a possible start in the May 29 Elitlopp at Solvalla in Stockholm, the 4-year-old Angus Hall-sired mare McCall Magic is getting ready to head to Naples, Italy, for the May 8 Lotteria.



McCall Magic sports a mark of 1:55.1 taken at Woodbine last year. Owned by Antonio DeRossi's La Perla Inc. and trained at The Red Mile by Kevin Thomas, McCall Magic qualified April 5 in Lexington in 2:00.2.



"We plan to qualify her again and then get one start in her at Hoosier Park before she leaves for Italy on May 1," said Thomas. "After that she's scheduled to come back to the U.S. to race this year."
