Darlin's Delight earned her first big victory as a 4 year old by capturing the $225,000 Lady Liberty Pace for mares Friday night at the Meadowlands. Driver Yannick Gingras sent the 10-time winner in 2006 to the front down the backstretch and she cruised home the last quarter in :26.4 to win over Street Dancer. Marine Hall took third.
Burning Point started from post seven but had the lead before the first quarter was reached in :26. She continued to set the pace, but eventually tired and finished last in the field of eight.
Whtie Birch Farm bred and owns Darlin's Delight, a daughter of Bettor's Delight and the top pacing filly Town Pro. Jeff Stafford trains Darlin's Delight, who was making just her third start of 2007.
