Mare Trot only older Crown needing elim

Return Home
October 16, 2012 | Print View

Among the for Breeders Crown for older horses, only one division–the mare trotters–needed a single elimination to get to a 10-horse final on Saturday, Oct. 27. The Breeders Crown conditions allow for a single trailer so there will be 11 in the $331,500 Mare Pace, which has been drawn for the final. The $500,000 Open Pace drew 10 and is also finalized. The mare Put On A Show entered against the boys and drew the rail.

Also, 10 older mare trotters will line up behind the gate on Saturday, Oct. 20, in a single elimination that has just the top seven finishers advancing to the $250,000 final. The connections of three trotters--Frenchfrysnvinegar, Pembroke Heat Wave and Cedar Dove--took byes directly to the final, which means that the trailing three finishers in the elim will not advance. Frenchfrysnvinegar is the defending Breeders Crown champion, winning last year's final at Woodbine.
