Marymatt finishes third

Marymatt Hanover, who holds the distinction of turning in the first sub-1:50 mile in the month of November by virtue of his 1:49.4 score at Woodbine on Nov. 8, finished third in an overnight at Woodbine Tuesday night.



Marymatt Hanover, a 3-year-old colt by Blissfull Hall, was making his move from third--just a half-length behind the leader--in the stretch drive when he broke stride. Driver Mark MacDonald got him settled and they went on to finish third, pacing his final quarter in :27.4 to finish just one length behind the winner.



Haulin Oars, a 3-year-old gelded son of Rambaran, won the race in 1:53.
