Sherry Berger’s Al’s Baby Girl led from gate to wire Thursday afternoon to capture a $7,363 three-year-old filly division of the Massachusetts Sire Stakes at Plainridge Racecourse in 1:59.

It was a new lifetime mark for Al’s Baby Girl, a daughter of Life Sign out of the Big Towner mare Mallwalker Hanover, trained by Mark Harris and driven by John Beckwith. Lady Knows Best finished second while Itstimeslikethese finished third.

In other Mass. Sire Stakes action at Plainridge, owner Raymond Campbell captured two divisions. In a $5,040 division for sophomore filly trotters, RC Curiosity (Credit Winner-Sparkling Cider by Pine Chip) trotted for a 2:03.4 victory over RC Business and A Band Of Diamonds for trainer George Ducharme and driver John Hogan.

The Campbell-Ducharme-Hogan combination clicked again in the $4,840 division for sophomore colt and gelding trotters as RC Authority (Credit Winner-Ladys Mirror by Balanced Image) trotted to a 2:05 victory over Geno Bambino and Deno Bambino.

In the final $5,520 Mass. Sire Stakes for sophomore colt and gelding pacers, Ed Blash’s Hey It’s Only Money (Allamerican Ingot-Dollar Sign by Goalie Jeff) paced to a 1:57.2 victory over Hey Just Call Me and Dotcom Jogger. Blash trained the gelding and Mike Eaton was the winning driver. (Plainridge)
