JM Vangogh tuned up for the $85,000 Classic Trot next Monday by turning back seven rivals in 1:54.3 to win the $24,000 Open Handicap trot at Dover Downs on Wednesday. Kennywood took the $18,500 sub feature. Jim Morand collected a driving quadruple.

A $1.1-million winner, Tony Morgan took JM Vangogh to the top and led at all stations en route to his eighth win of the season for owner-trainer Paul Chambers of Harrington, Del. and New Englander John Mello. Breeze Hill Will, who saw a three-race win streak end, finished a game second with Tim Tetrick driving. Mighty Moses, driven by Morand, closed strongly to finish third.

Kennywood won the trot sub feature. Roger Plante was the winning driver for co-owner Kenny Wood, no relation to the horse. Wood owns the Arndon gelding with Henry King. Eric Ell is trainer. Rusty's Biggie (Eddie Dennis) finished second in front of Sugar Valley Alley (Carlo Poliseno).

Morand, who drove two winners Tuesday, continued with a hot hand. Morand guided Rosania, Laham and Freedom Reins Partners' Wish Of A Lifetime to victory in 1:55.1 in taking a $13,000 filly and mare pace. It was one of two winners for trainer Steve LeBlanc. Another Wave (Les Givens) finished second with Little Kaya (Morgan) third.

Morand led off the program driving Carter Racing Stable's Felicity to a 1:55.2 victory in a $7,500 Delaware claiming pace and added a 1:58.3 triumph behind a 4-year-old Lindy Lane chestnut he owns, Kyle E Koyote, in an $8,400 Delaware trot. Morand's fourth win came piloting Robert Henry for Harness The Power. (Dover Downs)
