Gryffindor and You Tell Gordy won their respective $16,000 divisions of the second leg of the Matt's Scooter Series Friday night at the Meadowlands. Gryffindor was clocked in 1:52.1 while You Tell Gordy scored in 1:53.1.

Eric Ledford directed Gryffindor to the victory, edging Jo Pa's Shark (David Miller) in the final strides to win by a neck. Robin Of Locksley (Jim Morrill Jr.) was third.

Owned by Sterlingbrook Farms and trained by Noel Daley, Gryffindor is a 3-year-old son of Dragon Again. The win was his third in five starts this year, lowering his career mark by four-fifths of a second.

Sent off at odds of 10-1 with driver Pat Berry, You Tell Gordy was a 2 1/4-length winner over 29-1 longshot Paisan Hall (Daniel Dube) in the opening division. Even-money favorite JJ's Gazette (Yannick Gingras) had to settle for third, moved up a place due to a breaking Mega Hall who was placed back to eighth.

The Cheyenne Gang owns the winning sophomore son of Cam's Card Shark. Trained by Robbie Siegelman, the win was the first in six career starts, having only a pair of thirds to show for his previous efforts.
