Maywood hosts four stakes

Western Terror surpassed the $1 million mark in seasonal earnings Friday night at Maywood Park, capturing the $350,000 Windy City Pace final in convincing fashion.



As the richest entrant into this year's Windy City for 3-year-old colt pacers, Western Terror received a bye directly into the final. With Brian Sears driving, Western Terror rushed past Georgia Pacific in the stretch anhd drew clear to a two-length win over a "sloppy" track in 1:53.4. Artiology finished third.



Trained by Brett Pelling, the winning son of Western Hanover is owned by Perfect World Enterprises. Western Terror, who won for the eighth time this year in 22 starts, is now expected to start in the Matron at Dover Downs.



Chevie Cash won the $130,000 Abe Lincoln Stake for 2-year-old colt and gelding pacers with a 1:56 effort over the "sloppy" track. Dale Hiteman was in the bike behind the son of Cole Muffler who won for the 12th time in 16 starts this year.



Chevie Cash is trained by Ronnie Guhy for owner Clyde Stevens.



The Ray Schnittker Stable-trained entry of Armbro Barrister and Last Call At Dem's finished one-two in the $135,000 Galt Trot. Coventry finished third in the 2:01.2 mile.



Schnittker directed the winning Armbro Barrister while Sears was in the sulky behind Last Call At Dem's. For Armbro Barrister, a son of Malabar Man, the win was his seventh of the year in 20 starts.



Nu-Diamond Star capped off the night with a 1:55.3 victory over Artbitration in the $100,000 Cinderella for 3-year-old filly pacers.



A daughter of Artiscape, Nu-Diamond Star is owned by Shirley and Arthur Levin III. The Illinois standout is just shy of $400,000 in career earnings following the victory.
