Return Home
March 11, 2013 | Print View

McSauna blitzed from last to first winning the $16,000 Mares Winners-Over  while Jerseylicious overpowered her rivals in a $13,000 Filly and Mare pace to highlight the Monday, March 11 program  at Dover Downs. Tim Tetrick drove four winners, trainer Tim Crissman and owner Crissman Inc. had three wins each.  Roger Plante had a driving-training double.

Turning for home Tim Tetrick driving McSauna could see all six of their rivals, in short order those six could see McSauna streak past on the way to a 1:52.3 triumph in the week’s distaff feature event. Tom Tetrick owns the four-year-old McArdle-Steamy Place mare conditioned by Jim King who came into form last month with two wins and now has four victories in 2013. Megs Breeze (Jon Roberts) took second money with Lorrie Please (Eric Carlson) third, ending a personal streak of three straight second-place finishes.

Ron Pierce drove Sea Cruise Hanover to a 1:54 victory in the first of two $15,000 3,4&5-Year-Old Fillies and Mares paces. Ed Mullinax owns the Kelly O’Donnell trained Dragon Again-Sami Cam four-year-old adding her third win of the year to her seasonal bankroll of $28,800. Taylor B Swift (Corey Callahan) was second in front of Two Cam (Brad Hanners).

Crissman Inc.’s Ariadne Hanover with George Dennis at the controls won the other division for her second win in-a-row with a 1:53.4 mile. Whistler Seelster (Jim Morand) was a nose back in second with a dead heat for third involving Fill My Pockets Up (Eric Carlson) and Lil Miss Bourbon (Tony Morgan).

Roger Plante’s first of two wins came chauffeuring Ed and Jim Hall’s Rock, N Load home in 1:52.1 to win a $13,500 young female pace. A five-year-old by Rocknroll Hanover-Loch Laggan now is a $224,007 career winner.  Valerya (Art Stafford Jr.) led early and held on for second. Nice N Nick (Jim Morand) was the show horse.

For the second consecutive start sophomore-sensation Jerseyliciious destroyed her opposition scoring a season’s record 1:50.2 decision to win a $13,000 pace for young female pacers by open lengths. Corey Callahan moved the Western Ideal-Jet Lag three-year-old out of third at the half and zoomed into the lead in a :27.3 third quarter and came home in hand in :27.4 for her fourth straight victory. The 2012 Sweetheart winner now has won $210,906 for Pamela Curran and Legacy Racing Of Del. Rusty’s Treasure (Eddie Davis Jr.) and Midnight Blue (Jon Roberts) were second and third respectively.
