The best bet in harness racing just got even better. Beginning Saturday, the Pick Four guaranteed pool at the Meadowlands will be $75,000 on Saturday and $35,000 on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Offered nightly on races six through nine, the Pick Four is a "must bet" at the Meadowlands with its low 15 percent takeout, guaranteed pools and high return rate.
The Pick Four pool averaged $72,399 per card with an average payoff of $3,113 in 2009. The wager returned a record $67,998 when one winner took down the entire pool on Friday, Jan. 1, 2010. The Pick Four paid more than $1,000 nearly 50 percent of the time and more than $25,000 four times last year. (Meadowlands)
