The Meadows Standardbred Owners Association has announced the winners of the 2009-10 MSOA Collegiate Scholarships. Three students will share a total of $6,000 in awards for the upcoming schoolyear. Chelsea Fahy, of Washington, PA, is the recipient of a $2,500 scholarship. She will attend the University of Findlay this fall as a freshman and plans to major in Pre-Veterinary Medicine major. Her father, Bill, is a trainer/driver at The Meadows, while her mother, Moira, is an owner and trainer. "All three of these individuals have longstanding ties to The Meadows," said MSOA President Richard Gillock. "We are happy to be able to give each of them a chance to further their education. All three come from great racing families." The MSOA worked in conjunction with the Harness Horse Youth Foundation, which reviewed the applications and administered the scholarship awards. (MSOA)
