The Meadows Standardbred Owners Association (MSOA) raised $12,144 through its annual Christmas Chinese Auction, with the proceeds going to local charities and two standardbred retirement groups.
The MSOA held its 19th annual auction at the Holiday Inn adjacent to The Meadows racetrack. More than 100 prizes were donated for auction, which allowed the MSOA to reach a new fund-raising record.
The proceeds will go to the Meadows' Chaplaincy Program, the Standardbred Retirement Foundaitona nd New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program, the local Canonsburg/Houston Meals on Wheels and Canonsburg Hospital Chaplaincy Program, and the Avis Arbor Shelter for Battered Women and Children in Washington.
