The Pennsylvania State Gaming Control Board has reportedly given approval to The Meadows to open its new slot facility after an inspection on Thursday. The racetrack will hold two test runs on Friday, June 1, and Monday, June 3, and then open to the public on Wednesday, June 4.
Inspectors gave their approval after checking the site's surveillance systems, emergency exit alarms, backup procedures and connections to the state's monitoring computers. The Meadows' temporary casino of 1,738 machines will be turned on for the first time for the two test runs, with proceeds going to charity. The two charities to benefit are the Greater Washington County Food Bank and the Washington Hospital.
