Michael MacDonald hurt

Driver Michael MacDonald suffered undisclosed injuries as a result of a race accident at Rockingham Park Wednesday. MacDonald, 58, had won three races on the card, including the two previous contests before the accident occurred in the ninth race.

MacDonald, who has won more than 2,200 races and $12.6 million over his career and is currently the second-leading dash driver at Rockingham, was driving Nonnas Cam when the horse flipped over in the far turn and he was thrown from the sulky. MacDonald was reportedly taken by ambulance to Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, Ma., for evaluation.
