Miller set driving record

Andy Miller set an Illinois State Fair record when he captured Wednesday's 11th race with Perdition in 1:53.2 for his 20th driving victory of the meet. The previous meet record was 19 victories set by Dave Magee in 1993.



Miller added two more victories before the day's program was over, which brought his career total at the State Fair to 146. That places him in second place behind Magee's 188 wins.



Magee is still recuperating from injuries suffered in a racing accident earlier this year and has not driven at Springfield this week.



Tony Morgan picked up his 100th State Fair driving victory in the Illinois State Fair Colt Stakes consolation for 2-year-old pacing fillies with My Metallica. Only six drivers have won 100 or more races at Springfield. Magee and Miller are followed by Sep Palin (123), Joe O'Brien (122), Doc Parshall (111) and Morgan.
