A pair of $165,500 Del Miller Memorial divisions for fillies were contested Friday night at the Meadowlands and the first featured a blanket finish, with Windsong Soprano edging Margarita Momma and Raising Rachel in 1:55.2, while the second went to Yursa Hanover in 1:53.2.
Driven by David Miller, Windsong Soprano improved her record to four wins in five starts this season. Bob McIntosh trains the daughter of Windsong’s Legacy for Lothlorien of Cheltenham, Ontario.
Yursa Hanover grabbed the lead before the half and pulled away to a three-length victory in the second Del Miller Memorial division, race six. The Windsong’s Legacy lass trotted to a career best 1:53.2 for trainer Tracy Brainard and owner Robert Berthiaume of Point-Aux-Trembles of Quebec. Celebrity Athena and Seaside were second and third, respectively. Yursa Hanover has now won three of six starts this season. She won an overnight at Vernon prior to her start in the Del Miller. She finished second in the Elegantimage consolation at Mohawk after finishing fourth in her elimination and failing to make the cut for the final.
