It did not take a miracle to make believers out of racing fans as Miracle Believer was sent off as the 3/5 betting favorite and raced just like it in winning the $10,000 featured pace at the Isle Pompano Park Saturday. The third race started off with Murcielago and driver Wally Hennessey shooting to the early lead from post three in a blistering :26.3 opening quarter mile with Sugar’s Pride (Dan Clements) in the two-hole spot. But that lead was short lived as driver Kevin Wallis had Miracle Believer in high gear and grinding it out to take command before the half-mile marker in :54.4. As they raced down the backstretch, Clements came first-over with Sugar’s Pride and nearly collared Miracle Believer at the three quarters in 1:22.4. Then as they raced down the stretch, Kevin Wallis was able to shift Miracle Believer into another gear and they pulled away at the wire to win in 1:51.1 by 2 3/4 lengths. I’m In Luck (Daryl Bier) was able to close well to be second with Murcielago third. It was the third victory this year for Miracle Believer, a seven-year-old gelding by Arturo from the Die Laughing mare, Dr D’s Miracle. The Wize Advisors Stable of Palm Beach Gardens owns Miracle Believer and he is trained by Bill Gallagher. (Pompano Park)
