After two qualifying victories at Hoosier Park, the 2008 Older Pacer of the Year Mister Big captured a qualifier at the Meadowlands Thursday morning, scoring in 1:53.1 with driver Brian Sears in the sulky.

Trained by Virgil Morgan Jr. and owned by Joe Muscara, Mister Big posted 11 victories last year, including the Breeders Crown, Haughton Memorial, Allerage, Canadian Pacing Championship, U.S. Pacing Championship and Bobby Quillen Memorial. Morgan is following the same schedule as last year; Mister Big had five qualifiers before making his pari-mutuel debut in 2009.

Breeders Crown champion 2-year-old pacer Well Said made his sophomore debut Thursday morning, winning his qualifier at the Big M in 1:54 with Ron Pierce driving. The son of Western Hanover is trained by Steve Elliott and owned by Jeff Snyder and Lothlorien Center.

Finishing third behind Well Said was another highly-regarded 3-year-old colt pacer, Dial Or Nodial.

Hawaiian Drink, who finished her freshman campaign on a strong note with wins in the Three Diamonds and Matron finals, scored a 1:53.1 victory in her qualifier with Ryan Anderson driving for trainer Joe Anderson and owner Bulletproof Enterprises.
