Y Chance It returned to form during the Friday morning qualifying session at Mohawk, trotting a gate-to-wire 1:54.4 mile with Randy Fritz in the bike.

The 7-year-old Yentls Image gelding left from post five and recorded the fractions in :28.2, :57.2 and 1:25.4 before coming home in :29 to seal the one-length victory over Harlequin and driver Jody Jamieson.

Trained by Ron O’Neill for partners Paul Larrabee and Lynda Franklin, Y Chance It’s mile this morning marked his first action since February 26 at Woodbine. The bay has yet to notch a victory in his eight starts this campaign, as he has recorded two place finishes and banked $29,500.

In the qualifier, the 32-time career winner, who has over $820,000 in purses on his card, faced off with Bob McIntosh pupil Cash Hall and Gregg McNair trainee Son Of Grace.

Cash Hall, a 5-year-old son of Self Possessed, left from post four with Steve Condren at his lines. The 10-time winner, who has over $550,000 on his card, sat fourth through the opening half mile and third in the back half, eventually finishing third, beaten 4½ lengths.

Cash Hall has made one start this season in an Open at Western Fair on May 1 where he ran before the gate and was distanced.

With Mike Saftic in tow, Son Of Grace, the millionaire son of Super Pleasure, sat third in the opening half and fourth in the back half, eventually finishing fourth, beaten 8½ lengths.

Son Of Grace, an 8-year-old career winner of 22 races, has made three starts this season and has yet to hit the board. His last start came in the aforementioned Open at Western Fair.

Other victorious horses on the morning include 3-year-old Intrepid Seelster filly Dangerous Waters (2:00), 5-year-old Angus Hall horse Samuel Oaks (1:58.3), 3-year-old Presidential Ball gelding Great Balldini (1:53.4) and 3-year-old Rustler Hanover filly Draconian Promise (1:57.2).
