Mojo Theory became North America’s first 2-year-old winner of 2008 with a 2:04.3 qualifying effort at The Red Mile Tuesday. A son of first-crop sire Allamerican Theory, trainer-driver Steve Waller directed the freshman to the neck victory over fellow 2-year-old Miles Of Style, a son of Allamerican Ingot, in what was just a two-horse contest.

Out of the Gypsy Bret mare Gypsy Linda, Mojo Theory is a half-brother to Indiana Sire Stakes winner Fast Freddie Mojo p,2, 1:52.4 ($96,906) and Cracklin Rose p, 1:54.4 ($78,852). He was bred and is owned by Brent and Misty Perry of West Salem, Ohio.

Runner-up Miles Of Style, also trained by Waller, was driven by Enrico Robinson. An $11,000 yearling purchase by Jason and Matt Sullinger, Miles Of Style is out of the Artie’s Dream mare Easy On Me. He is a half-brother to the $448,000-winning Sam Francisco and the $106,000-winning Shes A Blast.
