Cat Manzi took two divisions of the $38,150 Molly Pitcher for two-year-old pacing fillies Saturday afternoon at Freehold. Erma La Em broke her maiden in the first division in 1:58.2. Four-wide around the first turn, Thong lead the field to a :27.4 first quarter when Necessary Element pulled at the half and sat alongside the early pacesetter going to the three-quarters. Erma La Em sat second along the rail, and coming down the stretch, she went up the inside passing lane for the win. Driving Erma La Em for the first time Manzi laid the whip on her tail and with a strong hold won for trainer Steve Le Blanc and owner Joseph Barbera. Valmctorian made it two in a row and three on the year with her 1:57.2 win for trainer Ray Remmen and owners John Lichtenberger, Saverio Spagnolo and James Chambers. Valmctorian got away second only to take the lead and then play hopscotch with Dreamlands Latte and driver Jack Baggit, Jr for the entire mile. In the end it was Valmctorian who persevered with Dreamlands Latte getting second and Nyoko Hanover picking up third.
