Western Fair Raceway is gearing up for its $250,000(C) est. Molson Pace on Friday, June 2, with world champion American Ideal among the nominees. Also included on that list is Dan Patch Invitational winner Hop Sing and defending Molson champ and newly-crowned Hazel Park Raceway track record holder Ponder. Eliminations (if necessary) will go postward on Friday May 26.

In 2004, Western Fair increased the purse offering of its signature event and we were able to lure the Four Starzzz Shark. He returned victorious in a new track record of 1:53. Last year, Ponder used the Molson Pace as part of a successful season against the top aged pacers on the continent. Like Four Starzzz Shark, he captured both his elimination and final. Ponder equalled Four Starzzz Shark’s record of 1:53 in the 2005 final.
