On Tuesday, Monticello Raceway announced a purse increase effective Thursday, May 15, the second rise in purses the past two months.
"We’ve increased our purses by about 15 percent across the board and it follows a 10 percent increase that we initiated on April 1,” noted Eric Warner, Monticello Raceway’s director of racing. “Currently we have increased our purses nearly 25 percent more than they were this past winter.”
During May the Mighty M will have live harness racing on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. However there will be no live card on Monday May 26, but there will be an added program on Friday, May 30. (Monticello)
