Driver Jim Morand was injured Thursday at Harrington Raceway after his horse took a bad step and fell in the evening's first race. The 42-year-old Morand was driving Tattle Toy, and while approaching the half-mile mark the horse appeared to stumble and fall. He was taken to Kent General Hospital in nearby Dover where an x-ray revealed two broken ribs. Morand has been one of Delaware's leading drivers and most popular for the past six years. He has won nearly 7,500 races lifetime. The horse did not appear to suffer any serious injuries. No further information was available at the time of this release. (Harrington)
