A story in Wednesday’s Newark Star-Ledger stated the Atlantic City casinos may double the $86 million purse subsidy given to the Meadowlands and Monmouth Park over the last four years when a new agreement is reached.

At a Monmouth Park press conference, New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority commissioner Jerold Saro said, "I believe we will have an arrangement in the not-to-distant future to announce, and until we have that it will remain a priority.

The president of the Casino Association of New Jersey said an agreement has not yet been reached, but that the casino industry is examining its options.
