More racing at Big M

The Blood-Horse magazine has reported that the Meadowlands will hold three all-turf cards at the Meadowlands on Mondays in June, while the Big M is in the midst of its harness racing "Championship Meet."



The reason for moving turf races from Monmouth to the Meadowlands is because of the delay in completing the turf course at Monmouth Park, which is being reconstructed in anticipation of the 2007 Breeders' Cup World Championships.



According to the Blood-Horse report, the N. J. Sports and Exposition Authority, which owns and operates Monmouth Park and Meadowlands, reached an agreement in principle with New Jersey horsemen in early February to run the three all-turf programs at the Meadowlands on June 5, 12 and 19.
