For the second consecutive week, Apache Dame won top honors in the $24,000 Fillies and Mares Open Handicap Pace at Dover Downs on Tuesday, Nov. 29. It was one of five winners for meet leader Tony Morgan.

Post eight was not a burden for Morgan and Apache Dame as the Ontario-bred came up big in a 1:52.3 victory in the distaff feature of the week. Pacific Illusion (Brandon Givens) finished second with Shake Away (Jim King), in her first start in two years, third.

The Bob Reeser-trained, Vic Kirby-driven combination worked again as Positively Electric racked up her second straight win and fifth in her last six races scoring a 1:55 triumph in the sub-feature $16,500 fillies and mares winners-over pace.

Though it was only a $7,500 claiming pace, the appearance of Try Kacy N made it a race receiving attention. Now 14, the gelding owned and trained by Art Brewer of Hartly, Del., continues to race out his career in top style. Jim Morand, who won two races during the program, piloted the Silk Legacy import to his 17th victory of the year, a 1:56.2 performance.
