Tony Morgan, racing’s winningest driver this year with 554 wins, visited Rosecroft Raceway Tuesday, July 4. Morgan, slated to drive in eight of ten races on the evening, made it to the winner's circle on three occasions.

Major Danger N wired the field in the third race for trainer Manley Brown Jr. Morgan drove the horse through quarters of :27.3, :57.2 and 1:26.2 to top Gold Crush (Jonathan Roberts) by two lengths in 1:56.1.

Morgan repeated his driving performance in the fourth race, taking Mattjestic Art wire to wire in 1:55.1 through fractions of :28.1, :57.1 and 1:25.4.

Morgan rounded out his winning streak in race nine with Jasper Bob. The horse drew away from the field by over five lengths after a wire-to-wire trip in the $10,200 Open Pace with a mile timed in 1:51.4. Jasper Bob, a 5-year-old gelding by The Panderosa, is trained by Arty Foster, Jr.

Due to electrical problems from inclement weather, Rosecroft Raceway was forced to cancel the final four races of the evening (races 11 through 14).

Morgan has over 10,400 wins and more than $69 million in purse money won lifetime. He has been in the sulky since 1977. Morgan is close to the pace set by Walter Case Jr. when he won a record 1,077 dashes in 1998. By July 6, 1998, Case had 568 wins.
