Morrill injury update

Return Home
May 10, 2006 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Here is an update of driver Jim Morrill Jr.'s injuries after being hurt in a racing accident at Buffalo Raceway last Friday night: Morrill suffered a broken clavicle and hairline fractures in his left wrist, left hand and ribs. "He's very sore, but doing OK," said Morrill's wife, Molly.

Morrill, who was aboard Pennywise, could not avoid Moaner Lisa A and driver Kevin Cummings, when the mare took a bad step and fell. Morrill was catapulted in the air and hit the track very hard. Both drivers were taken to the hospital immediately after the accident.

Cummings suffered a less serious hand injury and is expected to return to action later this week, while Morrill Jr. will be out indefinitely. Both horses came out of the mishap OK.
