Highlighting the Saturday night card at Vernon Downs will be five divisions of the New York Sire Stakes for 3-year-old colt and gelding pacers, with fifth-place finisher in the North America Cup and Vernon Downs hometown favorite Kenneth J making his return to the Empire State from post position seven against seven other rivals vying for a purse of over $30,000.

The 3-year-old son by Bettor’s Delight has career earnings of over $576,000 and sports a lifetime mark of 1:50.3 at The Red Mile as a 2 year old. This year the 3-year-old Kenneth J stopped the teletimer at Tioga Downs in a new track record time of 1:51 before heading to Canada. Kenneth J is owned by Kenny Jacobs of Baldwinsville, N.Y., and trained by Linda Toscano. He will be driven Saturday night by Jim Morrill Jr.

Also, highlighting the card will be the first division and the appearance of the runner-up in the $1 million Art Rooney Pace, Forensic Z Tam, who will head post ward from post position five. The son of Bettor’s Delight will clash against seven other foes in his fourth start in the 2007 campaign and just recently coming off a qualifier at the Big M in 1:53.3, cruising home a last quarter in :26.3. Forensic Z Tam has banked over $437,000 in his career for owners Z Tam Racing LLC, of N.Y., and is trained by Patrick Lachance, the 2004 United States Harness Writers Association “Rising Star” award winner.

Also on the card, Klingon Hanover, who has not made a start since the 2001 Breeders Crown at Woodbine where he raced against Real Desire and Bettor’s Delight, will make his return to the races at Vernon Downs on Saturday night off two straight qualifiers at Saratoga Raceway in the seventh race from post two, Pascal Beaulieu will be in the bike for the return.
