Mighty Moses won the $26,000 Open Handicap Trot for the second time in three starts Wednesday at Dover Downs in 1:54.3.

Jim Morand turned Mighty Moses loose on the backstretch, passed front-trotting RC Destiny (Tony Poliseno), then opened up around the final turn and was all alone at the wire. Solveig raced locked in until the stretch when Jimmy Takter shook free and the 4 year old closed strongly to finish second. Mark Gingrich-driven Sullivan Blue Chip took the third spot.

Mighty Moses is owned by Ken Wood, Bill Dittmar and Steve Iaquinta and trained by Eric Ell.

Schemin N Dreamin took advantage of an early speed duel between Rickie (Brad Hanners) and Rattlesnake Jake (Tony Morgan) to move into the lead at the three quarters and pull off a 1:56.2 victory in the first $20,000 Jr. Open Trot.

Ross Wolfenden drove the 5-year-old son of Incredible Abe to his first win of 2006. Saint Nicklaus (Hal Belote) came from far back, racing four-wide turning for home to finish second in front of Team Sakra (Roger Plante).

Schemin N Dreamin is owned by Three Point Acres LLC and trained by Chuck Crissman Jr.

Orillia Bam Bam made good use of starting from post one. Brad Hanners put the 8-year-old Balanced Image horse right up front and never looked back for a 1:55.4 triumph in the second $20,000 Jr. Open Trot. Bullville Sue (Tim Curtin) closed to finish second in front of fast-finishing Los Barvos (Tony Morgan).
