Most Happy Keene steps up and wins

Most Happy Keene was most certainly up to the challenge as he made a successful leap to the top of the pacing class on Saturday night at the Meadowlands, winning in 1:50.2 over South Park Hanover.

The 5-year-old gelding lit up the tote board at 25-1 in the $42,000 featured sixth race pace with Andy Miller in tow. Most Happy Keene drafted behind the pacesetter Pacific Playboy, who led the field into the stretch before tiring, and held off the late rally of South Park Hanover by a neck. He returned $53.60.

William and Elizabeth Keene of Richmond, Ky., bred the son of Pro Bono Best. They share ownership of him with Douglas Bartley of Frankfort. Most Happy Keene has now won 14 of 44 career starts and $109,471. (Meadowlands)
