Most Wanted Lindy wins Meadows series final

Most Wanted Lindy sustained a first-over bid that carried him to victory in 1:58.1 — equaling the fastest mile this year by a sophomore gelding trotter — in Monday’s $27,400 final of the Michaelrowyourboat at The Meadows.

Most Wanted Lindy competed in a single preliminary leg of the series for 3-year-old colt and gelding trotters, finishing an even second without leaving the pylons. Randy Tharps used the son of Cantab Hall-Dream On Lindy more aggressively in the final, moving to the outside at the half.

Ignoring the light rain and heavy surface, Most Wanted Lindy erased a 5-length deficit and nailed the leader, 4-5 favorite TSM Photo Bugger, in the stretch. Most Wanted Lindy downed that rival by 1-1/4 lengths, with Party Allstar third. Ray Simms trains Most Wanted Lindy for USA Inc.

Park Way also employed a successful uncovered move to capture the $15,000 Michaelrowyourboat consolation for Brett Miller, scoring in 2:00.2 as the even-money favorite. Waterloo Willie was second by a neck following a Lightning Lane charge while Photo Sport finished third.
