MR-Stga VGM's progressive

Monticello and Saratoga have announced they will introduce a progressive slot machine linking players at both sites beginning June 12, with the jackpot beginning at $50,000 and increasing “progressively” until it is won, which will then reset the jackpot at $50,000.

"This is a history-making event in New York State," said Monticello Gaming & Raceway video gaming director Chris Palmer in a press release. "We have been having conversations with all of our vendors regarding these types of machines for at least two years now. Bally's stepped up to the plate and made this happen. It really is a great opportunity for our players."

According to the release, Monticello will link 10 of its Bally’s Lucky Wheel machines to six similar machines at Saratoga. Second jackpots will also be available with the payout determined by the amount wagered.

Currently, the largest jackpot ever won at Monticello is $105,000, while the biggest payout at Saratoga has been $195,700. Both those jackpots were won on in-house progressive-type machines.

A representative of Bally’s also was quoted as saying the company is in negotiations with all the other racetracks in the state to be added to the progressive jackpot machines.
