The sophomore trotting starlet Ms. Pollyanna made it five in a row this season as she won the $10,200 Killbuck Mary Series final on Thursday night at Scioto Downs. The daughter of Chip Chip Hooray picked up a new 1:57.3f mark in the process. Kyle Ater sent the chestnut filly to the front at the start of the race, never relinquished the lead, and won as a 3-5 favorite. Her final quarter in :28.3 was enough to rebuff the challenge of longshot Southern Jade, who finished a length back in second, while Autumn Escapade was 3 1/2 lengths back in third place. After winning just once in eight starts as a 2 year old, Ms. Pollyanna is unbeaten in five tries this year and has banked $18,400. She is owned by her breeder, J.D. Burnett. Dan Ater trains the filly. On Thursday night's racing program, young driver Chris Page drove five winners in eight starts to add to the three wins he got on Wednesday night. Page narrowly missed his sixth winner at Scioto on Thursday night as he led all the way in the final race with Impressive Dancer until he was nosed out at the wire by Eza Rich King. (Scioto Downs)
