Muscle Shirt has ripped off three straight victories and will bid for her fourth in a row in the $43,900 second leg of the New Jersey Sire Stakes (NJSS) for 3-year-old trotting fillies on Thursday, Aug. 28 at Freehold Raceway.

Muscle Shirt drew post nine and has been installed as the 5-2 morning line favorite. She picks up a new driver in Jeff Gregory.

The daughter of Muscles Yankee– aisley Yankee, trained by Chuck Sylvester, began her streak in the elims for the Helen Smith Trot and took her mark of 1:56.3 when she won the $70,000 Helen Smith Final on Aug. 15 at Freehold.

Muscle Shirt added her third straight in an opening round NJSS on Aug. 21 to lift her record to three wins and two thirds in nine starts this year. Lifetime, she has seven wins and two thirds in 16 attempts.

Muscle Shirt has banked $134,210 for owners Irving Liverman of Hampstead, Quebec; Neal Goldman of Washington Township, N.J.; Alan Caplan of Manalapan, N.J. and Keith Dickstein of Las Vegas, Nev.

Facing Muscle Shirt in the $43,900 NJSS, carded as the fifth race, are (from the rail out with driver and morning line odds): Meucci Madness, Trond Smedshammer, 7-2; Winkys Magik, Jason Bartlett, 10-1; Winbak Brat, Steve Smith, 9-2; Bank On Rosie, James Marshall III, 15-1; Dreamanda, Pat Berry, 12-1; Fancy Vacation, Andy Miller, 6-1; Just In Time, David Miller, 8-1; One Tough Lass, Jim Pantaleano, 5-1 and Muscle Shirt, Jeff Gregory, 5-2.

The 3-year-old trotting fillies continue at Freehold with a third leg of NJSS action on Sept. 4 and an $85,000 final on Sept. 18. The 3-year-old filly NJSS and track record of 1:55.2 is held by Bee Line (by Self Possessed) and was set in 2006.

The Thursday card also includes four divisions of NJSS Green Acres--the second and third races for 3-year-old trotting colts and geldings, and the fourth and ninth races for 2-year-old pacing fillies. (NJSS)
