Hunterton Sales Agency consigned the sale topper, named Capo Dolce.
The sale got off to a strong start as bidders, especially those in the main arena, were active and kept the bidding lively. Hip number 4, Asset Blue Chip, a Credit Winner full brother to the stakes-winning Victor Blue Chip, fetched a bid of $170,000 from Celebrity Farms LLC.
Four horses later, Jules Siegel had the final bid of $200,000 on Dolce Ducci, a Muscles Yankee colt. The colt is the first foal of the Self Possessed mare Self Indulgent 3, 1:53.3.
Also of note, a half brother to Somebeachsomewhere was sold for $150,000 to trainer Kelly O'Donnell. The colt is by the late stallion Astreos while Somebeachsomewhere is a son of Mach Three. At the time he signed the sales slip O'Donnell said he wasn't sure exactly who would be buying the colt.
