My Boy David preps again

My Boy David qualified for the second time this year Monday at Balmoral, pacing in 1:57.2 with Andy Miller aboard for trainer Homer Hochstetler.

The 3-year-old son of Cole Muffler came home in :26.4. Last year the gelding won $255,999 and took a mark of 1:50.4 for owners Shirley Le Vin and David Ruff.

Fox Valley Shimmy, one of Illinois’ richest bridesmaids in 2005, won a qualifier in 2:02.

A 3-year-old daughter of International Chip, Fox Valley Shimmy won $71,215 last year with a line of 17-0-6-2. She was second in the $140,000 Lady Lincoln at Balmoral, the $56,000 Violet at Maywood, and the $45,000 Shawnee at DuQuoin.

The filly is owned by Paula Smith, Ken Spurlock, James Runyon, and Tripoli Stable and trained by Joel Smith,
