My Little Dragon in Garnsey

Return Home
October 06, 2006 Send To A Friend  | Print View

My Little Dragon captured the $296,000 Glen Garnsey Memorial Pace with a first-over rally, hitting the wire four lengths the best in 1:51. Brian Sears drove My Little Dragon, a daughter of Dragon Again out of the Jate Lobell mare My Little Pretty, for trainer Noel Daley and owner the Adam Victor & Son Stable.

Art’s Temptress finished second in the 12-horse field while Caviart Sydney was third. The first three finishers were the same as in a division of the previous week’s Bluegrass.

Despite starting from post one, Sears floated My Little Dragon out of the gate and settled third. The point position was occupied by Enhance The Night, driven by Jody Jamieson, then Western Gallie, with Yannick Gingras aboard, and finally Eternity's Delight (David Miller up) before My Little Dragon edged to the front.

“Last year she seemed to be a front-end mare…this year she seems better chasing,” said Daley about the trip.

My Little Dragon now has four wins and six second-place finishes in 10 starts this season. Last year the filly was undefeated in six starts.
