Mylyn Myers, a 2-year-old daughter of Revenue named for harnessracing.com/The Horseman And Fair World’s advertising manager Lynne Myers, won her first career start in a baby race Thursday morning at The Meadows, trotting the mile in 2:05. Driven by Wilbur Yoder for trainer Greg Wright, Mylyn Myers moved from fourth at the half and took the lead at the stretch call before going on to win by 1 ½ lengths.

Mylyn Myers is out of the Muscles Yankee mare Myolin 3, 1:55.4 ($197,112), the winner of divisions of the New Jersey Sire Stakes and International Stallion Stakes at two. Mylyn Myers’ granddam, Jonlin 2, 1:57.2 ($252,836) is a full sister to the 1993 Hambletonian winner American Winner.

The Meadows-based trainer Greg Wright shares ownership of Mylyn Myers with John Erdner and William Neumeister. Wright said the trio looked at two Revenue fillies bred by Perretti Farms at the 2008 Harrisburg sale, with Mylyn Myers going through the ring first. Wright was able to purchase Mylyn Myers for just $6,000, while the second filly ended up bringing $60,000.

“Then we went back to (Perretti Farms’) Bob Marks and he was shaking his head. He said if they had sold opposite, this filly would have brought $25,000 to $30,000,” said Wright. “She is a very, very nice filly; a nice-bred filly.”

Wright said Mylyn Myers will now head to New Jersey-based trainer Ross Croghan for some baby races at the Meadowlands before starts in New Jersey Sire Stakes contests.

“She is really good-gaited and been as nice a filly to be around as I’ve trained,” said Wright. “I want to get her off this track and on a big track. She does everything we’ve asked of her, she’s a really nice filly to be around. You’d swear you were training a (daughter of) Muscles (Yankee). She just acts like a Muscles.”
