Two track records fell at Monticello Raceway Monday afternoon in two $25,000 eliminations of Nevele Pride for 3-year-old colt and gelding trotters. First it was Green Day setting the mark for geldings in 1:58.1 then Mythical Lindy lowered the record for colts to 1:57.2. In the first elimination Green Day and driver Cat Manzi gave up the lead at the half to the favored Manfinity and George Brennan. But midway down the backstretch the second time Manzi swooped back into the lead before the three-quarter mark and went on to post the open-lengths victory. Manfinity held off the late rally from Cumulus to be second while Anzio Hall finished fourth and will join the top three finishers in next weeks final. Green Day, a gelded son of Enjoy Lavec, won for the fifth time in eight starts this year for trainer Jim Raymer and the Trillim Racing Stable. In the second elimination driver David Miller sent Mythical Lindy for the lead from the outside post seven and the son of SJ’s Caviar cleared to the front before the quarter and was never challenged. Half the field went off stride, leaving Mythical Lindy, Hitwiththeladies, Got That Look and Worldclass Guy to contend for the final order of finish. Mythical Lindy was a one-length winner in hand, while Got That Look edged Hitwiththeladies for second and Worldclass Guy completed the foursome headed to next Monday’s $338,000 final. Mythical Lindy scored her third straight victory in as many starts this year for trainer Jim Arledge and owners Thomas York Jr. and Joe Sbrocco.
