Jimmy Marohn Jr. was on a hot streak on Saturday night at Tioga Downs. Marohn made the trip to the winner’s circle four times on the eleven race card. His fourth came in the second division, first leg of the Tioga State Bank pacing series with heavy favorite Maxine’s Menace. It was the fourth win of the year for the 5-year old Cambest son and the mile of 1:53 established a new lifetime mark.

Maxine’s Menace is trained by Frank Antonacci and is owned by the Lindy Racing Stable, Howard Klohr, and Phyllis Smith of Connecticut and Florida. Marohn and Maxine’s Menace took control of the field just before the half mile pole in 56.3, and were never pressured from there coasting home with a back half in 56.2. Witness Stand and Mike Merton finished second, while Delmer and Corey Braden rounded out the tri.

Western Culture and Mike Simons used the pylon path to score in the first division of the Tioga State Bank pacing series. Western Culture is 4-year old gelded son of Western Hanover and is trained by Nick Giberson. The mile of 1:54 established a new seasonal mark for Western Culture who is owned by L&L Devisser LLC and Jerry Machiela.

Howard Parker drew off in the finale with CC’s Solo Mon to post a driving double on the night’s card. (Tioga Downs)
