Just a few hours after their wedding in Las Vegas, the new Mr. and Mrs. Tyler Raymer celebrated a win Wednesday night at Dover Downs when the $1.2 million-winner Green Day captured the $23,000 Open Trot with a 1:53.3 effort for driver Corey Callahan.
The win was the third straight for Green Day, who is trained by Leigh Nichol of the Tyler Raymer Stable. Leigh and Tyler were one of the estimated 9,000-plus couples in the United States who got married on Wednesday, which was 12-12-12. Included among the wedding group in Las Vegas were trainer Joe Seekman and his wife, Tina.
Owned by May Elizabeth Raymer, Green Day won for the third straight time and eighth overall in 2012. The son of Enjoy Lavec has earned a shade under $90,000 this year.
