New Pompano late-closers

Pompano Park has announced it will hold four late-closer series for 2-year-old pacers this summer: The Sunset Filly Pace; the Early Bird Colt Pace; the Seminole Filly Pace; and the Gator Colt Pace. The Sunset Filly Pace and Early Bird Colt Pace take place the first week of June and are not restricted to state-bred foals. There are two weeks of preliminary rounds followed by finals of $7,500 added for each division.

The Seminole Filly Pace and Gator Colt Pace are restricted to Florida-bred foals only and they start the first week of July. There are also two weeks of preliminary rounds of competition with $10,000 added finals in each division.

There will also be a late-closing series for 3-year-old Florida-sired pacers called the Hurricane Series in late July/August. Applications will be available shortly. (Pompano Park)
