When Monticello Raceway simulcasts the Kentucky Derby on Saturday afternoon, May 5, local fans will be able to wager on that event and other races in the tracks refurbished simulcast parlor. Now glass enclosed and climate controlled the simulcast parlor on the third floor of the grandstand also features two 50” television screens, fifteen new 32” TV monitors, a new food court and beverage bar, and new furniture in the room and common area.

As a token of appreciation, the Raceway will offer free hot dogs to the first 200 fans who attend the Kentucky Derby simulcasts that afternoon. According to Maureen Flynn, the track's director of pari-mutuels and simulcasting, the tracks betting windows will open at 10:30 am on Saturday with the first race post at Churchill Downs set for 11 am.
