April 18, 2007 Send To A Friend  | Print View

L & L Devisser's Gold Dust Beach drew post four and was named the 5-2 morning line favorite in Saturday’s $125,000 Battle of Lake Erie at Northfield Park. Trainer Joe Holloway has named David Miller to drive the World Champion 5 year old, who rides a two-race winning streak.

My Boy David, a double world champion shipping in from Chicago, drew the all important post position one and has been listed as the 3-1 second choice in the fastest field in the Battle’s 22-year history. Owned by Shirley LeVin of Schaumberg, Ill., and trained by Homer Hochstetler, My Boy David, who set world records at both two and three, will be driven by Ryan Anderson. The 2005 Battle champ Maltese Artist, locally owned by James Koran of Macedonia, Ohio, in partnership with Sylvia Burke and West Virginia auto dealer John Howard, is the third choice. He will leave from post five and has been assigned a 4-1 morning line. Brett Miller will steer the 6 year old for trainer Mickey Burke.

The Battle of Lake Erie is scheduled for 10:42 p.m. (ET) and will be the 11th race on a 14-ace card at Northfield Saturday. First race post is 7 p.m. The race will be broadcast live on TVG network, channel 602 on DirecTV and channel 405 on Dish Network. The race also kicks off the U.S. Trotting Association’s Cyber Circuit and will stream live at www.ustrotting.com.
